Art Show Information:

Our ever-increasing art show looks to be fantastic once again this year, as artwork is already pouring in from around the country!  Look here to find the latest information on entering our Art Show.

Information for Artists:

  • Our Art Show will feature original artwork submitted at the convention or by mail.  Artists must register for the convention to sell artwork.  The art show has a number of display panels available.  On these panels, artwork must be matted.
  • We ask that all panel submissions are original works.  This includes One-of-a-kind digital prints that will never be published again, hand-colored prints, and completely original works in all media.  Prints that are available by other sources (including but not limited to websites, sales at other conventions, etc.) and are not one-of-a-kind will not be displayed on the Art Show panels.  Rather, there is a completely separate Print Sale available for our artists.  (See below)  If you have any questions regarding a piece you would like to hang on the Art Show panels, please email art-show@technicon.org
  • The convention charges no hanging fee.  A 10% commission applies to all artwork sold through the Art Show or Print Sale.  No fee is charged on pieces that do not sell.
  • Interested in mailing artwork to the convention?  The Art Show Submission Guidelines are available, follow these instructions for mail-in submissions.  (Opens in a new window)

Print Sale Information:

  • This year, Technicon will offer a Print Sale as part of our Art Show.  Any artist is welcome to register for the convention and sell their prints in our show.  These prints do not hang on panels; rather, they will be on display and in binders, and available for instant sale at the Art Show Desk.  You set the price, and bring as many as you want to try and sell.  You don't have to do any work!  While you're enjoying the convention, we sell your prints for you.
  • As with all Art Show sales, the 10% commission applies to the print sale, and is deducted after the con.  We will combine Print Sale and Art Show auction profits into one payment to the artist at the end of the convention.
  • Interested in submitting prints for our Print Sale?  The Art Show Submission Guidelines are the same for prints or original works.  Note, however, that return postage must be provided for all artwork submitted by mail, including prints if you choose to mail them.  Any prints that do not sell will, of course, be returned to the artist at the end of the convention.
  • Want to take advantage of this, but never made prints before?  There is a Kinko's available here in Blacksburg with color copiers available.  If you need directions, search for zip code 24060 at www.kinkos.com

  • 3 Bids in the silent auction automatically sends a piece to voice auction
