A Convention Celebrating the Arts of Science Fiction and Fantasy
|
Art Show Information:
Thank you for your interest in the Technicon Art Show! Our Art Show features original artwork, submitted at the convention or by mail, from a variety of artists.
For artists interested in submitting pieces:
-
All artists must register for the convention to sell artwork. There is no charge for hanging space, but the art show has a limited number of display panels available. Artists must purchase an attending membership! A Friend of Technicon membership does not include panel space. You must purchase a General or Student Weekend membership.*
-
On all display panels, artwork must be matted or mounted in some way. Art will hang from padded bulldog or binder clips, so please provide surface area for attachment.
-
A 10% commission applies to all artwork sold through the art show auction. No fee is charged on pieces that do not sell, and "Not For Sale" items are permitted at no charge.
-
Artists who wish to mail artwork to the convention should follow the submission guidelines for mail-in art.
-
Shelf space is available for 3D artwork. If you wish to display a piece too large for a bookshelf, please contact the Art Show director for assistance. We will do our best to arrange for space to display your creations.
For attendees interested in bidding:
-
All attendees must be registered for the convention. Your convention badge number is your auction bidder number.
-
3 Bids in the silent auction automatically sends a piece to our voice auction.
-
Any bids after the last-chance deadline, before the voice auction, instantly send that piece to the voice auction.
-
Bids must be placed in whole dollar amounts.
* Technicon Art Show staff reserve the right to decline any entry that they feel is inappropriate. Depending on space demands, the art show staff may also need to limit the size and/or number of entries from a single artist.
